Dr Dame Barbara Evelyn Clayton, Mrs Klyne, DBE FRCP, FRCPath, FMedSci (2 September 1922 – 11 January 2011) was a British pathologist. Clayton was born in Liverpool. She attended Bromley County School for Girls (London), where she was head girl. She went on to study medicine at Edinburgh University, qualifying in 1946. She met William Klyne in 1947 while both were employed at the Medical Research Council; they married in 1949, and remained married until William Klyne's death.
